- Passive listening: Unlike traditional dictation software that requires verbal commands, AVT runs passively. A microphone in the room or on a mobile device captures the conversation.
- Speech recognition: The system uses Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) to transcribe the dialogue between the different speakers, distinguishing between the doctor and the patient.
- Natural language processing: AI and Natural Language Processing (NLP) are used to analyze and understand the context of the conversation, extracting key medical details like symptoms, diagnoses, medications, and treatment plans.
- Documentation generation: The system automatically generates a structured medical note, such as a SOAP note, based on the conversation.
- Integration with our EMR: The completed draft note is seamlessly integrated into our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system for the clinician to review and sign off on.
